First thing I'd like to say is this; the only great rock bands that have ever existed, or will ever exist for that matter, are the ones that develop and change over time. However, society is so afraid of change that this fear falls inline with music as well. Change is not bad.
APC has a talent for making every album they release different, and they do it well. This cd is truly amazing and I love how Maynard can even make his political statements abstract. Instead of venting his own rage at the Bush administration, he uses the words of other artists from the last 50 years. This somehow makes an even bigger impact making us realize that this anti-war sentiment has been around for quite a while.
Highlight tracks from this album would have to be: the only real new original (even though it was from a previous project of Maynard's known as the "The Tapeworm Project") "Passive", Devo cover "Freedom of Choice", blues song "When the Levee Breaks", and of course the awe inspiring "Fiddle and the Drum" (behold the talent of Maynard)
Buy the first APC album "Mer de Noms", and fall in love with it; buy the second APC album "Thirteenth Step", and smile with joy; buy the third APC album "eMOTIVe", and be inspired...
