With his multi-platinum 2000 debut Aaron's Party (Come Get It), an adolescent Aaron Carter showed that his Backstreet Boy older brother Nick wasn't the only member of the Carter clan with hit-making pop sense and sensibility. And his dance-, rap-, and pop-infused sophomore effort, Oh Aaron, follows suit with ten short but sweet tracks. On the reggae-tinged title track, the 13-year-old patterns his rap style after Will Smith's comical "Parents Just Don't Understand," as he jokingly rhymes about not being able to score 3001 free Backstreet tickets from his bro (who appears on this track, as well as on the catchy "Not Too Young, Not Too Old"): "Hook me up Nick/I swear I'll pay you back," Aaron teases. Although this cutie has yet to find a distinctive voice as a rapper, as exemplified by the Nelly-esque "Stride (Jump on the Fizzy)," he has matured as a vocalist, which he proves on the swoon-worthy ballad "I'm All About You." This disc will undoubtedly leave the younger Carter's millions of female fans sighing Oh Aaron.
