Great Band, Great CD

Acid Bath has a great blend of death metal sound and heavy beat blues. In November 1996 they put out "Paegan Terrorism Tactics" a follow up to the brilliant "When the Kite Strings Pops". Their music shows influence from many genres of rock.
Lead singer Dax Riggs solidifies the music with his low winding voice, which seems to weave through the deep bass drum. This combination marks "Graveflower", which flows back and forth between moments of heavy beats and thick guitar while Dax's voice flows over. "New Death Sensation" is a much more instrumental piece which delivers a clean acoustic guitar symphony. The order of songs ensures rock of various styles, many times in one song. There is a little something for everyone. Songs like "13 fingers" with their heavy beats and breakneck pace, split up many of the slower, more melodic songs, which are produced to perfection. "Dead Girl" continues the death march with a nylon string progression, which strongly displays Acid Baths large blues influence.
What is phenomenal about this album is the incredible amount of diversity in the sounds. It is my favorite track of the album. "Venus Blue" is a catchy, solid piece and I would say it is the track that most resembles the metal heard on the radio today. If I had to compare Acid Bath to any other band I would say they are Tool with a broader range. They have the ability to combine beautiful symphonies and break-neck metal in the same track. Acid Bath has ensured their spot in the death metal genre through the underground. "Peagan Terrorism Tactics" is a masterpiece; fans cherish it, and listen to it frequently.
