Good but not Great.

Admiral Twin's first national release only gives you a glimpse of what they are capable of. I have collected all their independent releases and unfortunately, "Mock Heroic" isn't as well done as their past ventures (In my opinion). Many of the catchy, wonderfully written songs have been left behind and replaced with several average songs and a few winners.Their sound has a bit more garage band feel, instead of the tight guitar and instrument sounds of the past. BUT don't get me wrong. The CD is good, it's just not as good as I know it could have been. If you ever get a chance, try and grab some of their independent releases (some when they were known as the "Mellowdramatic Wallflowers") like "Continental Breakfast" and "Unlucky". I know there is a bright future for Admiral Twin and I am still looking forward to hearing their many CDs in the future.
