Afroman's current popularity may be from the proliferation of the hit "Because I Got High" on the 'Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back' soundtrack, but for those of us who have listened {not just heard} the entire album, I think the only thing holding Afroman back from becoming a cultural icon for the "whatever" generation is: they are DEFINITELY NOT getting alot of top 40 or R&B radio play. As for people listing this album as a one-hit-wonder novelty, they either haven't listened to the tracks, or they simply don't have any experience that would allow them to relate to the realitys that are the basis for this excellent album. There is certainly not a lack of meaningless but catchy tunes out there, most by cheesy knock off's of teeny boppers. This album is not anything like that. Most 'good' music is rated because it sticks in your head 'cause you relate (besides the infectious grooves. Most of the tracks on this album do both of those. Check out the catchyness of "Crazy Rap" or the life experience of 'Palmdale' and 'American Dream'. Read alittle into the title track to catch a simple morality. Although quite explicit, it is seriously a 4 out of 5 stars.
