The Future is Here.

By releasing this album Air have made a very bold statement....they are here to stay and they are ready to make an impact on tomorrows music. Many people who were expecting the soft-core french semi pop heard on Moon Safari will be understandably dissapointed. This is completely different and in no ways similar to any of their previous work. If Air decided to stick to the same formula that worked in Moon Safari that would put them the same catagory as countless other people mankin what i think is music and enjoyin their 15 minutes of fame..and that would not be desireable cuz we like Air and we want them to stick Around. On its own this is a truely amazing CD. From the retro flavoured opner which is an anthem for all electronic musicians to classic rock influenced jams like Radio#1 to the loose lo-fi Beck'ish The Vagabond to the sheer head banging rythems of Dont be Light this album if full of surprises. The string arrangments on the entire album are breathtaking and production is so air tight there is no room left for any kind of errors. The music on this CD sounds like an interesting cooked up stew with Pink Floyd and Kraftwerk thrown into the mix with a dash of NEU! for flavor. They have expremented heavily and those experement have been extreamly successful. I am shocked to see so many bad reviews. Personally i am very happy the have made this CD so now atleast i know that Air are not capatilizing upon a successful sound they stumbled upon...they are talented artists who are gearing up to make their extreamly powerful mark on future of music...also i saw them perform live...it was a concert of a lifetime..one of the best that i have been to...mark my words and keep your ears open for many more great things to come form this band.
