Albums this good don't come often

I heard a lot of country albums the last couple of years. I thought one the best new singers in the realms of country music was Faith Hill. But now she's got a serious contender. Moorer combines easy going songs with a supreme and above all warm voice that one does not forget easily. Everytime I listen to the album it gets better. At first you think the album just has a great singer who performs some standard country songs. But the more you listen to the album the more depths you discover. The lyrics are great and the way Allison sings them are proof of a deep emotional bond to country music and to life itself. But what struck me the most about Alabama Song was that a young girl like Allison Moorer did not abandon the traditional sound of country music. The nineties already have produced to many semi-dance style country albums that forgot their roots.
