BURT BACHARACH MEETS EURO/SYNTH/AMBIENT! by
Reviewed on May 27th, 1998
Listening to Alpha's COME FROM HEAVEN CD was a pleasant surprise. Somewhow, Wendy Stubb's ethereal vocals and all of the textured, layered oversampling of its tracks subliminally compete over my childhood memories of Dionne Warwick's soulful renditions of Mr. Bacharach's music. If you like Hooverphonic, Air's Moon Safari, or Craig Armstrong's The Space Between Us, mixed with some 60's psychodelia via Chemical Brothers, this album is for YOU! Alpha. Come From Heaven.
