Amanda Ghost. She's so good, it's scary.

First, Amanda does a really good job of mixing different types of music. She starts out with "Filthy Mind," a dance song. The next song "Idol" could almost be considered pop. She combines so many different styles into one all of her own.

Her lyrics are incredible. So many singers write (or have other people write) lyrics that sound so forced and contrived, but all of the songs on "Ghost Stories" are so real. Not only are the lyrics competant, they're beautiful (not beautiful as in sunshine and daisies, but as in wonderful and inspired). They're so powerful. And I really appreciate the fact that there aren't any sappy love songs. She writes about real things - not just love.

My favorite song is "Silver Lining." This song is just so beautiful. It really shows off Amanda's voice, which is so strong and full of emotion. You can feel her pain on songs like "A Child Believes" and "The Wrong Man." Another song I really like is "Idol." As I said above, this is almost pop-sounding, but not like Britney Spears or anything.. it's good pop. It's like a mix of pop and rock. And, I don't really know why, but her voice just seems so pure and clean on this track. "Numb" is a very powerful song and a great pick for the last track. I could say great things about every single one of the songs on this CD. It is one of my favorite CDs ever. When I listen to it, there is not one track I skip over, and I almost always keep it on repeat. If you have any thoughts at all about buying it, you should! And if you don't.. well you should still buy it. You have no idea what you're missing.
