ok, so by now i guess it's fairly well understood that i love the women of rock a bit more than the law might allow. having said that, it's inevitable to believe that amanda ghost and i would meet at point or another in my life. here we have a women who should be receiving tons of play on the radio and mtv should've worn her idol video out by now but unfortunately we suffer as nelly furtado and that awful britney spears are the only two females in music that we as consumers of music are allowed to hear. doesn't that seem a bit unfair to you ? amanda ghost has been overlooked by pop culture completely and i don't really believe my review will change things much but maybe i will feel better in knowing that perhaps some of you who would take notice of ms.ghost are reading the reviews here. this cd is very eclectic and should appeal to almost every kind of taste whether you like electronica, pop rock, folk, or trip hop. if incorporating so many musical styles onto one cd wasn't enough for you, perhaps you'd find yourself drawn in by her amazing lyrics which most of us in the real world will be able to identify with. ms.ghost tackles timeless issues such as shyness, insecurity, and not surprisingly spirituality in the most delicate but certainly credible ways. what makes ghost stories a definate winner is that the lyrics are easy to follow and you are most likely to find yourself singing along to all the songs here. i played this cd for my friend's mom and she SEEMED to think amanda's voice was very much in the same vein of stevie nicks. she even asked me if she could borrow my cd. did i loan it to her? well, yes but that's another story. give ghost stories a chance as i don't think you will be the least bit disappointed. whereas it may take some artists forever and a day literally to establish their very own sound, here we see an artist who appears to have a solid career cut out for her if only we would be so kind as to open our eyes or ears.
