Like most people, my first introduction to this band was through the Scream 3 soundtrack. IMHO "Automatic" was one of the few, if not the only bright spot on the entire cd. Sadly, this album wasn't available yet when the soundtrack was out. Well, the wait is over and man was it worth it. I have been dying for someone to step up to the plate and give a humongous middle finger to all of this nu-metal crap that has flooded our senses over the past year or so. American Pearl have managed to make a timeless rock album in the midst of everything going on around them. Sooner or later(hopefully sooner), the balloon is going to burst and Limp Bizkit and all of their wanna-be followers are going to take a plunge to the bottom of the heap. When the dust clears, AP should be sitting very pretty. This cd rocks likes nobody's business. It's got an unmistakable 70's groove to it, but manages to sound very forward thinking. Having said that, if I had to compare them to somebody, Love/Hate springs to mind almost immediately. Just riffs, riffs, and more riffs. They just simply don't make albums this good anymore. These guys are on to something and I'm glad I got in on the ground floor. If you like no-frills rock, buy this cd and crank it for all it's worth. You won't be disappointed.
