2nd mothers of invention album is another classic. Loads of top tunes here: duke of prunes, plastic people, brown shoes don't make it,call any vegetable ,uncle bernie's farm. It's satirical, daft, brilliant. the first half is vegetable related songs-but a prune is not a vegetable. frank was having a go at society here, conformity etc. and status back baby has great lyrics too. brown shoes is a roller coaster ride through american blandness/perversity. the ritual invocation of the young pumpkin is a great psychedelic solo and sax playing. big leg emma and why dontcya do me right are worthy of inclusion-the latter has a great stinging solo. the america drinks tunes are very funny. The last tune was covered by john luke ponty on king kong, and also by woody herman. great album.thank you
