A retro-dance album, is that such a good idea? Gwen seems to pull it off nicely and even adds a little of popular styles of today in this album. She even manages to advertise her clothing line all in the process. LAMB= Love Angel Music Baby.
1. What You Waitning For- A killer dance track to kick off the album. The verses sound like Hash Pipe by Weezer. Gwen was obviously debating on wiether this was a good idea or not. 5/5 2. Rich Girl- It reminds me of a song she would do with No Doubt. She basically is saying that being rich isn't everything, but it has it's benefits. She teams up with Eve once again. 5/5 3. Hollaback Girl- This is where the album gets a bit "iffy". A stadium, cheerleader type RAP SONG! Yeah listening to Gwen try to do this is rather funny actually. I give her props for trying it atleast. 3.5/5 4. Cool- We are back to the good stuff here. This is a very lovely ballad which she is really good at. 5/5 5. Bubble Pop Electric- Andre 3000 from Outkast makes his first appearance on the album playing his Johnny Vulture character. It is fast 80s like pop song about backseat lovin'. 4.5/5 6. Luxurious- She is trying RnB now. The money flaunting gets a little annoying. It is alright. 3/5 7. Harajuku Girls- They like your clothes, so what? It's catchy though. 3/5 8. Crash- I really like this song. It's a fine dance-pop type song. 4.5/5 9. The Real Thing- This song reminds me of something Madonna would do back in the day. It's a very lovely ballad. 5/5 10. Serious- I love the intro. It's one of the better songs. 4.5/5 11. Danger Zone- Wow, this one is just great. 4.5/5 12. Long Way To Go- Andre returns in a track that could very well fit on The Love Below. This is probably the most serious track on the album. It's about the fact people still look down upon intrracial couples. It is an excellent track to end the album with. 5/5
I really do enjoy the album. I am more into rock music, but I like to break away from it once in awhile. Is it perfect? Not really but the songs are very well done and catchy. I would recommend this to anyone who likes pop music. I will give it 4 out of 5 stars.
