I've always liked No Doubt but I wasn't sure if I was going to buy Gwen Stefani's solo album until I heard "What You Waiting For?" and I loved it! This is one of the most fun albums I've ever heard! From reading the other reviews, it seems that people either really love or really hate this album. For me, this is a great album to listen to if you want to have a good time. In several interviews, Gwen herself has said that this album wasn't meant to be deep or meaningful. I appreciate music and lyrics that touch my heart and make me feel something, but I also appreciate music that lets me have a good time and forget about my troubles. One reviewer said that "What You Waiting For?" and "Rich Girl" made Gwen sound like she was full of herself. If that person actually listened to or read the lyrics to "What You Waiting For?", it shows that Gwen was very insecure and scared to make a solo album, so I don't see how that makes her sound like a snob. As for "Rich Girl", in it, Gwen sings, "IF I was a rich girl", not that she WAS a rich girl, so she's singing from the point of view of someone who doesn't have money. There's nothing wrong about someone who doesn't have money dreaming about what they would buy if they were rich. Anyways, I love how the album has a strong '80s influence since I grew up in the '80s. My favorite song is "The Real Thing". It's very sweet yet still fun. I also really love "Crash". For people who are deciding whether to buy this album, listen to the song clips. As for me, I highly recommend it!
