Kelly Clarkson shows us all once again why she America chose her as the American Idol in 2001. There are plenty of reasons why she has gained so much respect in the music business so quickly, and "Breakaway" is just a reminder of what is to come from this rising star. Unlike many pop singers that come and go, Clarkson is sure to shine for many, many years and claim a permanent place in magazines, books and music stores forever.
With catchy tunes like "Breakaway," (written by fellow pop star Avril Lavigne) "Since U Been Gone" and "Behind These Hazel Eyes," although partially traditional in lyrics, could be argued as the album's most enjoyable tracks. "Because of You," and "Addicted" (powerful lyrics such as 'It's like you're a drug // It's like you're a demon I can't face down // It's like I'm stuck' remind you that she is growing and maturing into her own as an artist as her career blossoms) are beautiful piano ballads that showcase Clarkson's voice like many of us are used to.
Clarkson also treats fans to a live song on her album, "Beautiful Disaster," which makes her album unique and more enjoyable. She'll continue to call people in her direction with her music and they'll label themselves as fans as long as she's recording albums. And we're betting this diva isn't going anywhere soon.
So, Simon, do you still agree with America's decision?
