I first heard "Turn Me On" back in December 2003 before coming back home to California after spending a wonderful 4 months as an exchange student at the University of the Virgin Islands, St. Croix. My resident advisor gave me a bunch of CD's to bring home, one of which included "Turn Me On," along with some Dancehall and Soca hits. I was instantly hooked!!
When I saw the video on MTV and heard it on the radio 6 months later, I was ecstatic!! This song has been out for quite awhile in the Caribbean. I'm glad it's finally getting airplay in the States. I want to thank Kevin Lyttle for introducing Soca to the States because it gave me great memories of my car trips around St. Croix, my roommate from Anguilla, and every wonderful aspect of my Virgin Islands trip.
This whole CD is great. The standout tracks are: - Turn Me On, both original version and remix with Spragga Benz - Last Drop - Sign Your Name (Kevin's cover of Terence Trent D'arby's hit song) - Dance With Me (My FAVORITE song on the CD) - Drive Me Crazy (The background is similar to the "Buy Out Riddim," which was also featured on Sean Paul's "Like Glue" and T.O.K.'s "Money to Burn") - Sexy Ways (Hidden Track)
