I love Lindsay Lohan I think she's very very talented I loved her in The Parent Trap and Mean Girls I also thought she did well in Freaky Friday and COATDQ as well even though both FF and COATDQ were my least favorite Lindsay Lohan movies.Lindsay showed she had a little singing talent when she contributed to the Freaky Friday soundtrack with Ultimate.She also did 4 songs on The COATDQ Soundtrack songs including That Girl(Drama Queen) and the Princess Diaries 2 soundtrack with I Decide.When I heard Lindsay wanted to do an album I said cool let's see what this girl is made of.In Early October of 2004 she released her first Single off the Speak album:Rumors the lyrics may sound cheesy but the song had a nice beat and was far different from anything I heard from Lindsay's previous songs.After hearing the song and seeing the video I just knew that Lindsay was going to blow her arch-rival Hilary Duff out of the water(Not that I hate Hilary I think she's cool too)But unfortunately I was wrong.The songs on this album pretty much sound a bit like songs you would hear from not just Hilary Duff but other Teen Pop/Rock Idols Like Ashlee Simpson and Avril Lavigne.That's the main problem with this album she's trying to be like everyone else instead of being herself when I first heard Rumors I was expecting to be the next Madonna or Britney Spears but after hearing this album she's not even trying to be a music artist period.Though there are some song on this album I did enjoy including:
First Nobody Til You Symptoms Of You(Although this song sounds a little bit like Ashlee Simpson's Pieces of Me) Speak Over To Know Your Name Rumors[*]
That's Pretty much it the rest of the songs on this album are not all that interesting.Only Little Kids and Lindsay Fans are going to like this album and I'm a Lindsay fan so I brought it I didn't wanted to after hearing the Album the day before it came out on AOL Music but I wanted to support her music career because Lindsay is a pretty good singer.Hopefully IF she gets the chance to do a sophmore album she look over and think about why Speak wasn't an instant success as she thought it would be(because I'm looking at the billboard charts now and its really plummeting)and she come up with some better material other than that I thought the album was Okay I give it 3 out of 5 stars.Lindsay,you're great actress and good singer but this album just didn't do it for me Better Luck Next Time.Oh,Let me just say before I end this review is y'all need to stop comparing Lindsay and Hilary they're both the exactly the same they both act and sing and they're great talented beautiful young women.So y'all need to stop picking sides over who's better at what and other stuff like that.
