Good Album

I have been a fan of the Misfits since 1986 and was not sure what to think when I first heard Jerry and Doyle were putting together a new line-up. Many people hate it, largely do to the fact that Danzig is not involved. Danzig was a huge part of the sound, but he was not the only part. The new sound has occasional similarities to the old Misfits. The sound is clearer and it is obvious that Doyle learned how to play the guitar since the original line-up broke up. Overall, I like this album and the other two from the graves lie-up. Following is my rating on each song.1. Abominable Dr. Phibes- Instrumental, cool but nothing spectacular.
2. American Psycho - Title track is decent, but not great.
3. Speak Of The Devil - Fairly heavy song, Graves puts something into the vocals.
4. Walk Among Us - We had to wait 15 years for a song with this title, but it was worth the wait.
5. The Hunger - This is the beginning of the strongest part of the album.
6. From Hell They Came- A really strong song.
7. Dig Up Her Bones- Best song on the album.
8. Blacklight- One of the heavier songs on the album, differnt but very solid.
9. Resurrection - Maybe the second best song on the album largely due to Graves vocals.
10. This Island Earth - Now we move into the weakest part of the album. Not bad, but a bit messy.
11. Crimson Ghost - Not bad, but just goofy and really cheesy.
12. Day Of The Dead - A bit like American Nightmare from Legacy of Brutality. A punk song with a 50's sound, but with mixed results.
13. The Haunting- They get back on track again. This song is similiar to the Hunger.
14. Mars Attacks - Very good song, but not the best lyrics even for the Misfits.
15. Hate The Living, Love The Dead - A decent song, not a standout.
16. Shining - A good song, not real memorable, but good.
17. Don't Open 'Til Doomsday - Great song, everything falls into place. One reviewer criticized the title. It was taken from the name of an Outer Limits episode.
18. Hell Night- Hidden track
This is a cool song, somehow feels like a good song to finish with.
