Like a lot of bands, Supergrass has never really been able to escape the curse of being labeled the "next big thing". Nonetheless, The first two CDs (In It for the Money is the 2nd) are two of the better British pop album of the 90's. Supergrass borrows from the Beatles, 70s pop and soul music, 90s alternative rock, punk-pop rockers like the Jam and the Buzzcocks. Somehow they make it all fit together. In it for the Money" is more musically diverse than their debut album, with horns (courtesy of the Kick Horns), organs, exotic percussion, and even a Theremin used here. Anyone who likes their pop a little left of center should like this CD.
