Finally I gave in and listened to the Killers after all the hype I'm hearing. When I first heard "Somebody Told Me" I really didn't like it and it sounded way to poppy for my taste. However I gave in and listened to my friends CD. I was blown away by the first 2 songs. Jenny Was a Friend of Mine is awesome. Crank it up in your car and this dark track sounds epic and reminiscent of the Cure and (ugh...Duran Duran). I love his aggressive singing style in the verses. Even though I don't like Duran Duran I love this song. Next song Mr. Brightside is probably the best on the CD, very meloncholic, bittersweet & inspiring at the same time. After song 5 "All These Things That I've Done" ends the album starts to blend together a little, nothing stands out like the first half. The last song is pretty cool though. All in all it's an excellent first album and I'm interested in how they'll evolve in upcoming albums, if they last to make more. If this is the future of pop radio, I'll take it over J. Lo Linsay Lohan Simpson Timberlake Beyonce Jr. & the rest of the stomach churning mindless drivel produced on the radio anyday.
