As a singer, I believe that while Tonya really does have singing ability, she still has a long way to go before she can make it to the top. Now then, as some people incorrectly believe, Tonya is a one hit wonder. Her most famous song may be "I Represent", but there is another song that stands out from her album. This song would be "Broken Promises", a song about how a guy kept telling Tonya that he would love her and all that, but he never kept his promises to her. This may actually be her best song, with lyrics such as, "No more lonely nights, baby that's what you told me, even though you aren't around..." Then of course there's the song "I Represent", which is a great song about how girls shouldn't let guys treat them like toys. While I understand that this is the song most people have heard of by her, I don't think it's her best. I personally believe that she relies too much on electronics and doesn't let her listeners hear her real voice. However, this song does have a positive message, and is easy to get into. The other song that I remember is called, "I Don't Wanna Fall in Love". This one sounds like it might have some very sassy attitude in it, however, it is a ballad, and a very misleading ballad at that, considering that the lyrics say, "I don't wanna fall in love, until I fall in love with you..." The rest of Tonya's album doesn't stand out right at the moment, but from the one listen I gave the whole album, it certainly seems like she's a big ballad fan. Also, for those people who want to know what kind of music Tonya makes, it's a more mature form of teen pop. Some reviewers have said that Tonya is another Britney/Christina/Jessica/any other teenybopper singer, but I don't think she is. For one thing, Tonya can sing, even if she does use too much electronics to make her sound "better." I think it's sad that Tonya isn't noticed because she does have talent and needs to have a little more support from her record label. I think that with a cooler hair style, sassier attitude, and relying less on electronics and more on her voice, someday Tonya can become more well-known.
