Customer Rating: Summary: Really really awsome Comment: This game is so cool. The graphics are average for a Xbox game. This game is pretty easy to beat. I havn't found a single glitch. I said this game is so fun for a few reasons: First reason, your charictor the prince can do the coolest fighting moves like like vaulting over a enemy and the stabbing it in the back, reason two, the Prince is a expert acrobat resaulting in being able to run acros walls, and other cool stunts. Reason three, It has a really awsome storyline. I really recomend this game, expecially if you like games like God of War.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Comment: The product is excellent and it arrive at my hands super fast, really I recommend this salesman widely
Customer Rating: Summary: Tomb Raider for guys Comment: PoP was first released in 89 for AppleII, Mac, DOS, Atari, GameBoy, Nintendo, etc, etc...Ubisoft picked up the ball in 03 and gave us this trilogy for xbox, PS2, game cube, etc. Also playable on the 360. Sands of Time is much like Tomb Raider (which is much like Indiana Jones) with added time control gimmick. 3rd person, jump from platform to platform, pillar to pillar, etc etc...A couple of these functions are also employed in Ubi's Splinter Cell (hanging on ledges)...
PROS
- wall running is cool (even though probably influenced from the Matrix).
- good to have a middle-eastern themed title in the mix.
- graphics are fine.
NEUTRAL
- story
CONS
- combat is button mashing, arcade-like, not much fun for many of us.
- primary combat attack is a button, not the right trigger (like every single other game in existence). Counter-intuitive.
- camera (view) is DEPLORABLE. Often uncontrollable and goes wherever the hell it wants to.
- bad guy is a rip-off of Aladdin's bad guy, even with a long face, beard and cobra-headed staff...only thing missing is Gilbert Gottfried's annoying parrot.
- too much like Tomb Raider. Gameplay, climbing, jumping, locations, etc. Combat in tomb raider is also fairly bad with its goofy infinite ammo auto-targeting stuff.
- time control is just a gimmick in place of a much better function (SAVE ANYWHERE).
- jumping around is often risky and hard to control (just like in Tomb Raider). Often it jumps where you don't want to, often to your death.
I don't totally get why everyone thinks this game is the bee's knees. The camera view, combat button-mashing and often-hard-to-control jumping make it more annoying than pleasant to play.
Customer Rating: Summary: good graphics fighting system is obscene Comment: the graphics in this game are great but, the endless puzzles like getting to rooftops gets old i dont usually get mad over video games but i thought about taking it out if the xbox console and tearing it
Customer Rating: Summary: A totally awesome game but lacks in a few things Comment: I recently just purchased this game over amazon and had no problems even though it came from a third party. It came shipped just like you would have bought it in a store. I bought this since I saw a friend playing the newest installment of the Prince of Persia series. He recommended it and Now onto the game of what I thought.
I will try not to ruin the game for everybody but this is a great game. I, as for many others could hardly put down the controller. The story starts out as you see him running through a forest talking about time. And I will stop right there because then I would spoil the story.
One particular problem I had with the game was that I could hardly hear the characters talking. I had to turn it up so loud that during the fighting sequences, it was blasting my ear but when it came to cut scenes, it was just loud enough to hear. That I did not enjoy. Maybe I am just the only one who had a problem with this. So a minor set back
Another problem I had was the fighting sequences. When you had numerous enemies surrounding you, you puch one button to do a move, and it does the opposite of what you want it to do. Plus, I had problems with not being able to block an enemies slash. So there were times where I was hit three to four times and nothing I could have done about it, even with dagger to move back time.
The last problem I had was how easy the game seem. Some of the puzzles are challenging, but others are very simple and you will fly right through them. The hardest one is known as, "The Hall of Learning." I had to resort to a walkthrough to figure it out and I hardly do that! The final boss in the game, I found it very easy to beat and I expected more.
Overall I would still highly recommmend this game to anybody. It is fun, hard to put down, and it gets you involved in the story. Be prepared for some minor setbacks so that is my reason for the three stars.
