Customer Rating: Summary: Really works! Comment: I put this on my daughter's fingers one week ago, along with some pale pink nail polish (for her liking) and she has not sucked her fingers yet. She knows the nasty taste from accidently putting them in her mouth while eating. She has only cried once and asked me to take it off....I told her I could not get it off and she was over it.
I have also used it on myself for nail biting. It is a horrible taste, I do not want to bite! Customer Rating: Summary: WOW! Comment: I have used everything possible to help my 4 year old stop biting her nails. She would bite so bad that her fingers would bleed. The other products we have used were OK but after a while she got used to the taste and continued to bite her nails. Mavala Stop is so great because it is so nasty that my little girl just doesnt stick her fingers in her mouth. It doesnt peel off like some other brands. I do put it on her every day because i dont want the taste to wear off. JUST IN CASE! I love it. I can actually see some white on her nails and it has been about a month! I started using Mavala Stop and he has not sucked his fingers in over a month now. The first couple days are a little tough, but it was amazing to me how well it worked because he was VERY dependent on sucking his fingers throughout the entire night. Customer Rating: Summary: Absolutely works for children (and adults), not at all cruel! Comment: This amazing product got my four year old to stop sucking her thumb in one day! (And this is a child who had her thumb in her mouth anytime she was not eating or speaking.) Other reviewers have done the taste justice...I just wanted to share technique. I didn't want to shame my daughter into changing this bad habit, so I told her I bite my nails (I do, when one is broken) and that we would break our bad habit together. I also bought a copy of the Berenstain Bears the Bad Habit, which we read before giving ourselves Malvala manicures. It only took one time of her tasting this stuff for her to quit...my experience was much more enlightening. I had no idea how many times my fingers were in my mouth until this nasty stuff was on. Also, if your finger finds the inside of your nostril, you will be tasting the stuff for hours. :) It broke a bad habit I didn't even realize I had! :)
