Heather's Tummy Tamers™ ~ Peppermint Oil Caps (2 bottles, 90 caps per bottle) are an enteric-coated blend of peppermint, fennel, and ginger oils that soothe and relax the digestive tract. Peppermint has an anti-spasmodic action, and calms the smooth muscles of the stomach, intestines, and uterus; peppermint also has powerful analgesic (pain-killing) properties. Peppermint is extremely useful for indigestion, abdominal cramps, and relieving pain from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Peppermint is also anti-bacterial, increases gastric juices, and relieves gas, nausea, vomiting, and morning sickness. Peppermint contains essential oils that stimulate the gallbladder to secrete its store of bile, which the body uses to digest fats. Peppermint also improves the function of the muscles that line the stomach and intestines, and helps relieves diarrhea. Although peppermint is such a powerful smooth muscle relaxant that it can trigger acid reflux or heartburn in people who are susceptible, because Heather's Tummy Tamers™ ~ Peppermint Oil Caps are enteric coated they do not dissolve in the stomach. Instead, they pass through the GI tract whole until they reach the intestines. For this reason, they're often very helpful for people who cannot tolerate peppermint in other forms (such as teas or foods). Fennel has anti-spasmodic properties and it stimulates the production of gastric juices. Fennel is exceptionally beneficial for bloating and gas. It's also useful for GI and menstrual cramps, diarrhea, colic, heartburn, indigestion, and stomachaches. Ginger is helpful for a wide variety of GI ailments ranging from simple indigestion to severe nausea and cramps. Ginger contains powerful digestive enzymes, acts as an anti-spasmodic, helps prevent vomiting, and improves the tone of intestinal muscles. It also has a mild anti-inflammatory action. Heather's Tummy Tamers™ ~ Peppermint Oil Caps contain no sugar, salt, yeast, wheat, gluten, corn, milk or preservatives.

Customer Rating: Summary: helpful Comment: heathers tummy tamers is really helpful. especially if you have problems with gas or bloating. :) it really helped me alot.
Customer Rating: Summary: Worth a try Comment: I think peppermint (whether in the form of these pills, or brewed tea) and fiber taken before meals has helped relieve my IBS symptoms, my problem is primarily bloating. I prefer the tea when it's an option, but it often isn't, so these pills are great.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not for me! Comment: I can't see how this product is enteric coated because if that were the case, the pill wouldn't open up until
it reached the lower part of the digestive system and it seems to start working in the upper digestive
system way too quickly. It gave me reflux.
I would have to say to be really careful if you have reflux and generally I don't, but I was feeling a burning sensation in my chest after one pill.
It also doesn't make a lot of sense to be taking this on an empty stomach. I would think if I had taken it
in the middle of a meal, it might have gone down with my food and arrived at it's destination as it should.
Trouble was I was scared to take another pill because of the burning in my chest. It took hours to go away
and made me wonder what Heather was thinking in the design of this product!

Customer Rating: Summary: Yes, they do help. Comment: At first, I found that I got a little reflux, but I've got used to them now and they do help. I have tried all sorts of things over the years and these help with the gas and bloating better than anything else.
