Comment: The sonic toothbrush is pretty good it works for me doesn't grind your gum to the bone and does a pretty good job and yes flossing is still a must but all in all the sonic has a 2min timer shuts off,, charges well and holds a good charge for a pretty long time,,,it's good wish I had one about 20 years ago,,

The handle fits well in the hand; the brush(es) are easily interchangeable and screw on tightly. It charges quickly. We usually store the handle on the charger, so I can't say too much about the battery life, though it has lasted well over 2 days for us. I've even noticed that, with daily use, the brush seems to remove the slight plaque build-up you can sometimes get inbetween dentist visits.
As others have said, the vibrations take a little getting used to, and you've got to be careful to keep your lips closed (otherwise you'll spend a lot of time cleaning the sink and counter and cabinet and mirror.) But after a very short amount of time you'll be wondering how you thought your teeth were clean with using a brush. I tell you, that polished feeling is addictive!

Comment: My dentist recommended this for me, but I wasn't going to buy it from him or Walmart. Amazon.com is the cheapest, I like this product because it does a really good job at getting your teeth clean. I hihgly recommend it especially from Amazon.com!

Comment: I don't really have a basis for comparison with any other power toothbrushes but I think it would be fair to say that this thing is among the best. I have been using the Sonicare essence e5500 for about 1.5 years now and my teeth have never been so clean. I havent had any cavities in that time and I think my teeth look even whiter than before. The brush is very easy to setup and use, first time users will feel funny after using it but you will get used to it. Make sure you take the time to thoroughly brush your teeth. All in all a great product at a great price (I paid about 60 on clearance).
