Germs can be passed on toys, especially moist soft toys, where a wet environment is the perfect breeding ground for germs. Help stop the spread of germs on toys, pacifiers, bottles and other baby items, with the Germ Guardian Nursery Sanitizer. It effectively reaches sanitizing temperatures to kill 99.9 % of germs in 30 minutes. Dry heat is used which is a safe, natural way to kill germs without the use of chemicals.

Customer Rating: Summary: It is tiny Comment: I knew it was not going to be big, but it is TINY. Don't waste your money.
Customer Rating: Summary: do you have little kids? you need this! Comment: when my older daughter was little and we had playgroup and playdates in the winter, all the toys went into the freezer for a little quarantine... now i don't have to do that anymore! i just put everything n here! very cool, and convenient. especially if you use pacifiers! my only qualm is that it is a bit small. i would love to dump everything in at once, but it dows take a few 'loads'. but you don't have to do anything-totally effortless! i love this!
we are big into the germ guardian stuf here too, i have the personal air purifier that i wear around my neck and it made a huge difference when we were having construction done. but that's another story...
Customer Rating: Summary: Great for toys that say you can only wash with a damp cloth Comment: I recently bought my daughter a bunch of teething toys that are stuffed animals with the teethers on the hands and feet (that do not have liquid in them), a couple of material books with the teethers on them and some other toys. I thought I would be able to wash them with her clothes(being that they don't have any electrical parts) when I got them home every single one I bought said do not immerse in water to clean it only with a damp cloth. Because of the fact that they are often dropped on the dirty floor and in the store most of them are hanging up for everyone with DIRTY HANDS to touch and play with (if you pay attention to the amount of people who use the bathroom, or pick their noses, or sneeze and wipe it on their hands, and only god knows what else they do, then they don't wash their hands before they go to the store), a damp cloth just is not enough to clean a toy my daughter will be putting in her mouth. Then I found this sterlizer, I love it. I use it on all of those toys, mostly stuffed animals and it works great. I don't use it for bottles. I have a microwave sterlizer for those things or I use the dishwasher. I think this is worth buying just to use it on the toys. Almost every single toy that is material or plush in the store says, "do not immerse in water use only a damp cloth to clean". This is not for toys that are electrical or that have liquid in them like water filled teethers. Bottom line is this is the best way to clean stuffed animals, other material toys and pacifiers.(Also the "prongs" another reviewer refers to in the added pictures, that are the to hold up bottles and nipples I think four in total. I just took my dremel and a number 543 carbide cutting/shaping wheel and easily cut them down and smoothed them to be even with the bottom of the rest of the container. So now I can put more stuff and bigger stuff in it.) I love it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great purchase Comment: It's a great product to sanitize all the toys you drop on the floor in public places that can't be washed by hand or put into the washing machine.
Customer Rating: Summary: Poor Design. Won't sanitize teethers. No bottles larger than 4oz. To Small ! Comment: I bought this item before returning to work because I thought it would simplify my sterilizing routine for my breast pump parts. I also liked that It was dry sanitizing, so I was excited to sanitize items like teethers, small stuffed animals, etc. I wish that I had seen all the reviews on amazon before purchasing. I assumed by the photo that this was a much bigger item, and that I would be able to fit lots inside. (see my photos uploaded to amazon)
I was sadly mistaken. When the germ guardian arrived I was shocked at how small it was. Unlike other reviewers stated, I was able to fit all of my double pump pieces inside, both horns, both diaphragms, and all the sterile caps, etc. However, that was about all I could fit. If the unit is completely empty, I can fit four, 4 ounce avent bottles in it, but none with the pump horns. The avent 4 ounce bottles must be in the 4 corners, otherwise the lid hits them and won't close. Anything larger than a 4 ounce bottle will only fit on it's side. Because of the strange plastic divider pieces that are in the container, only ONE 8 oz bottle will fit inside, on it's side. Strange! So when I thought that I would be able to come home and sterilize Four bottles and all my pump parts in one load, I was sadly mistaken. I can fit almost 50% more items in my Avent Micro Steam Sterilizer. Every night after daycare I have to run the Germ Guardian THREE TIMES to get the bottles and pump parts from the day sanitized.
If I didn't have to pay for return shipping on this item, it would be going back. The small size of the chamber is just ridiculous. They could have at least made it deeper, if not wider dimensionally... that way it would take up very little counter space and still handle a nice sized load.
Another thing I wasn't expecting, the bottom of the container is "open" with spoke-like dividers radiating out from the center. Instead of being a nice grid design like say, a colander, it allows smaller pump parts and even pacifier handles and small MAM Pacis to fall through. That is crazy to me. I am always afraid this will cause something to melt or drop through. (please see photos I uploaded of inside grid)
That said, the sanitizer is easy to use. It does it's job. It's nice to walk away and come back to clean, dry, sterile pieces. My favorite part is that silicone breast pump parts and nipples are never "spotted" or cloudy as they are with boiling or with steam sterilizers. Just nice and crystal clear. At least things look nice!
Another thing I was shocked about? You can't use this to sanitize teethers! The directions state that no toys with liquid inside can be placed in the sanitizer in case they get too hot and burst. I was disappointed at this. You also can't put in any toys with light or music/sound features. So no light up keys or musical rattles. I thought that as a dry sanitizer, it would be able to do these things for me. That even ruled out the stuffed animal that I wanted to sanitize, because his hands are plastic and filled with a teething gel.
Another downside is that wet items cant be placed inside. So while I thought I would save drying time, I still have to wash and hand dry all the parts before they can go inside. I thought they would probably dry while in the sanitizer, since it uses heat much like a dishwasher. However, the directions tell you that it is NOT A DRYER and that Wet Items are not to be placed inside. If wet items are inside, they won't get hot enough to be sanitized.
I was extremely frustrated with the lack of information about the product that was available before I purchased.
This could use some serious improvements. The idea is great but the design is not.
