Summary: A bit pricey, but worth it for long hours of gaming
Comment: My boyfriend and I recently purchased two of these to use with Warhammer Online. I got sick of my hands hurting from the constant contortions required to use a regular keyboard and figured that a $60 investment was better than a repetitive stress injury. I have never used anything like this before so I can't compare it to similar products on the market.
Pros:
-Great appearance! The blue LED is very pretty. The plastic for ours is not sparkly, just a really shiny black. I also like the striking resemblance to a robotic hand.
-the configuration software is fairly intuitive. I haven't attempted to create any fancy macros but you can figure out basic keymapping in a few minutes
-Overall the ergonomics are great - all the keys are within easy reach and the controller holds your hand/wrist a way that really reduces fatigue after a long gaming session.
-The keys are nicely responsive - they depress easily and pop back up almost immediately. Unlike another reviewer, my thumb button has both audible and tactile feedback to let you know it has been depressed fully.
-Plenty of keys without having so many that they become confusing. I use two modifier keys and have mapped movement keys, all of my skills, shortcuts for the map, character sheet, inventory, etc and have plenty to spare.
-I no longer need to have the keyboard taking up valuable space on my tiny desk.
-6 rubber pads on the bottom really help keep the controller in place even during intense PvP fights
-Adjustable wrist support - I have fairly large hands for a woman so it was fine for me right out of the box. I would suggest that people with smaller hands remove the wrist support
-The d-pad has a removable joystick. You *could* use it for movement but I wouldn't suggest it. I've taken out the joystick and have the d-pad mapped to shortcuts I use frequently
Cons:
-As mentioned in other reviews, the LED is *very* bright - It would be nice if the keys were brighter than the background
-Another complaint is the spacebar placement - Unless you have enormous hands it will probably be hard to hit with any accuracy. I don't generally need to use it that much so I left it alone. If you really need it for what you are doing just map the spacebar to a more convenient key
-the scroll wheel can be difficult to use - I have it set to scroll through nearby enemies (no modifier) and friendies (modifier key). If I'm running chasing someone down
-I have to retrain myself to a new key mapping scheme- while this is certainly not the fault of the product, it is good to remember that it will take a while to break old gaming habits. It will probably be frustrating at first, but once you get a system down it is MUCH easier than a keyboard. For something like an MMO I would also suggest going through the effort of customizing the UI. I have reset the action bars so they are configured to the key placement on the game pad. This really helped me transition my upper level characters with many skills etc.
Honestly the pros for me much outweigh the cons. My hands/wrists hurt a lot less and now that I've had some time to adjust to a new controller I think it is a VAST improvement to a regular keyboard. If you play games a lot it will pay for itself very quickly.

Summary: Belkins Backward Blunder
Comment: I won't bore you with a lengthy review of why this replacement for the N52 blows major chunks. I can see a lot of the points had been covered already in reviews. I bought this because I figured it would be just as good as the N52 -- it isn't! Belkin actually went completely backwards in the device and software design for the n52te. If you need a game pad, check on ebay for a new N52, that's what I'm doing.
Please, don't buy this, you won't like it even if you never had the older N52 before.
The thumb space bar key requires too much travel to use and you have to press it in the center exactly, unlike the older N52. Belkin what were you thinking!

Summary: Nice addition to PC gaming
Comment: It's hard getting used to playing with the Nostromo after being a keyboard WoW player. However, after I got the buttons set up how I wanted (through the very easy-to-use GUI) and got used to using it, I love this thing! I'm so glad I bought one!

Summary: The perfect gamepad?
Comment: Has all the buttons one needs placed right under the fingertips, and a D-pad right under the thumb. The D-pad WORKS, as opposed to other brands game pads which wont let you program WASD movement into that. The D-Pad is also quite comfortable for long duration use, and I have spent several long game sessions (5-6 hours a pop, playing using my N52TE.
The only drawback is the software, which is hard to use and improperly documented. If you experiment a bit though you can figure it out. Such as, all menus ad drop-down righht clicks, off the specific button you want to program. Unlike the basic N52 which you hit the button on the Actual N52 and program that that way.

Comment: I really, really wanted this to be a good pad. As a Mac user, my options are limited, and the N52te appeared to be the best (and only) option.
The N52te instantly became a very nice looking, unusable brick the second the driver software was installed. Unresponsive and unfunctional. Belkin made no responses to requests for support.
Returned the unit, brought home another. Removed all previously installed drivers and started over. The unit bricked again.
Perusing the internet revealed a long history of poor Mac support, driver problems, and endless complaints.
Wait for Belkin to take their support issues seriously, or wait for a competitor to build a better product. Don't get me wrong: the N52te looks and feels great... it just doesn't work.
