Summary: Very disappointed
Comment: I bought this for an upcoming trip to Disney. After testing it out at home, my husband and I decided to return it. When purchasing this product the sales agent told me that I could specify the distance (number of feet) that I would want before it would alert me. This is not entirely true, you can only specify Near, Medium and Far. In testing the Near setting, we found that is about a 50 foot distance - which is a lot farther then I would like. Fifty feet would be great if I was in an empty park (like the commerical) but in a crowded place - 50 feet is way too far. Additionally the alarm is not as loud as expected. I was told (again by the sales agent) that the alarm on the tag is VERY loud and that alone would probably cause the kidnapper to back away from the child. This again is not completely true. Maybe in a place where no one else is around or everyone is quiet you would hear the tag, but definitely not in a crowded place. As far as the return policy - the customer service is very slow. You only have 5 days to return the item. I called and was put on hold after telling the agent that I wanted a refund. I had to call back only to be told that I need to submit a request online and she would send me a link. This product is completely overpriced - it should be more like $100 not $189. Would not recommend this to anyone.

Comment: When I bought this, they told me that its not meant to just tag your children and let them run aimlessly, but rather use the alert mode for if I happen to lose sight of them... which is what I did.. and sure enough my 5 yo was right by my side in the store, I turned to ask the stock guy a question, next thing you know my pocket was vibrating. I took out the locator and found him in seconds, hiding in the clothes rack. If I didnt have it, I know i would have been going crazy looking for him and making a store announcement in a panic. Not this day. Great product. A+++++++ This mother approves!

Summary: Over priced and under performed
Comment: I bought this product with much anticipation for our repeated camping trips. I found the hand held unit to be poorly made and more like a fake fisher-price cell phone than a child locator. I will continue to use it but certainly was not worth the $200 I paid for it. Now that I own it, I feel its worth around $50. I waited too long to return it too.

Comment: Don't buy this item. The Return policy is terrible. You have to get an RMA within 5 days or you're screwed like I am. The product doesn't work as advertised. It does not clearly tell you which direction to go in to find your child (or other tagged item). Your child will be long gone while you're spinning in circles trying to determine which way to go.

Summary: Thank you BrickHouse for making my son's Disneyland dreams come true
Comment: As a mother of a 5-year-old with Autism, going to an amusement park or crowded mall is out of the question for my family. Injury and abduction are always on my mind and I have to be on constant guard to make sure that my son doesn't wander away. After buying The BrickHouse Child Locator, I have been able to take my son to more and more public places with less and less worry. Instead of panicking if he gets out of sight, I simply reach in my purse and grab The Locator. Before purchasing this device, going to a public place like an amusement park would have been impossible. But now that I have The BrickHouse Locator, I have the confidence to take my family to Disneyland for the first time ever. The peace of mind and normalcy that The Locator gives me is priceless. Thank you BrickHouse for making my son's Disneyland dreams come true.
