Editorial Reviews:

Dr. Emmett Brown: Then tell me, "future boy," who is president in the United States in 1985?
Marty McFly: Ronald Reagan.
Dr. Brown: Ronald Reagan? The actor?! Who's vice president? Jerry Lewis?

Filmmaker Robert Zemeckis topped his breakaway hit Romancing the Stone with this joyous comedy with a dazzling hook: what would it be like to meet your parents in their youth? Billed as a special-effects comedy, the imaginative film (the top box-office smash of 1985) has staying power because of the heart behind Zemeckis and Bob Gale's script. High schooler Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox, during the height of his TV success) is catapulted back to the '50s where he sees his parents in their teens, and accidentally changes the history of how Mom and Dad met. Filled with the humorous ideology of the '50s, filtered through the knowledge of the '80s (actor Ronald Reagan is president, ha!), the film comes off as a Twilight Zone episode written by Preston Sturges. Filled with memorable effects and two wonderfully off-key, perfectly cast performances: Christopher Lloyd as the crazy scientist who builds the time machine (a DeLorean luxury car) and Crispin Glover as Marty's geeky dad. Followed by two sequels. --Doug Thomas

Michael J. Fox Q&A

For the bonus features, I will double dip for this special edition. I don't want to wait for the Blu-ray (which, of course, I will buy at the time of release as well). For $[...], I don't mind the double-dip so much.

Summary: Is it worth double dipping for?
Comment: While it's neat that the Back to The Future Ride footage is being included as a special feature I just wonder if it's worth picking up on DVD again? My main concern is if whether or not the film quality has been remastered at all.

Otherwise I'd just wait for the rumored Blu-Ray release.

Summary: Still no Eric Stoltz footage.
Comment: BTTF is my favorite movie. Everyone knows MJF is Marty McFly. But, please release some of the Eric Stoltz footage. Oh well, maybe for the 25th Anniversary. Still giving 5 stars because this is the best film ever.

Summary: BTTF : The Ride
Comment: As to BTTF being one of my favorite movies of all time, I will be buying all 3 movies again. On disc 2 of BTTF, Universal is going to add the footage from BTTF: The Ride that was at Universal Studios Florida before it was taken down in 2007. That should be cool to watch on the big screen TV! Now if I can only get the couch to move.
