Shot back-to-back with Back to the Future II, this final chapter in the series is less hectic than that film and has the same sweet spirit of the first, albeit in a whole new setting. This time, Michael J. Fox's character ends up in the Old West of 1885, trying to prevent the death of mad scientist Christopher Lloyd at the hands of a gunman. Director Robert Zemeckis successfully blends exciting special effects with the traditions of a Western, and comes up with something original and fun. --Tom Keogh

Customer Rating: Summary: Great film, finally getting good treatment Comment: This is 3rd and finale in the series with Michael J.Fox and Christopher Lloyd in the old west. So, this time its an action adventure in the old west with trains, horses, romance and that Western atmosphere. There were some good high points in this, just like the others. It has the same formula. I think it has the charm, fun and energy of the first 2. Some say it was flat, while others love it. I thoroughly enjoyed the series, the chemistry of the acting with Lloyd & Fox is there, despite a somewhat weaker story. How often are sequels better than the first films ?
I find good interesting &/or funny characters will save an average film. Back to the Future 2 & 3 were shot back to back. This has been on DVD a few times, now a special edition is due in Feb.2009 - which when i get it I will share my thoughts on the DVD. I do have high expectations about this. The 3 films will be upgrades and surpass the DVD box set based on bonus features. I expect the transfers to be the same or better..
